Your assignment is to add roman numerals to all of the red boxes of this movement. Here is a clean score (no boxes). And here are the pages with the boxes.

My apologies for not having these "box pages" in one file. We're still working out some of the kinks in this new approach to the course...
Look at all of the blue bracketed sections carefully. Each of them represents a repeated section that you don't have to re-analyze. You should, however, know what is being repeated and whether or not it has been modulated (like it will be between the Exposition and the Recapitulation, for instance).
Remember to concentrate on the chord roots and qualities for the Development Section (which starts right after the repeat sign and goes until the Recap restates the introductory measures). Don't let yourself get bogged down in trying to find Roman Numerals during your first time through the piece. Put the name of the chord's root and an indication of the quality/inversion between the staves of teh grand staff.
Once you have the chord roots and qualities for the Development Section, then you are ready write them out from left to right on one page of paper and parenthesize all of the Dominant/Tonic pairs of chords (including vii°-I).
The next step is to start figuring out the important key centers--remember that they HAVE to be featured in the parentheses. Whatever keys show up in the Dominant/Tonic pairings are the ONLY POSSIBILITIES for key centers!
When you think you have identified the important key centers, add in the Roman Numerals (with inversions).
If you can't get all of these yet, just study what you can and come into class with some questions.
Those questions are what makes "Flipping the Classroom" work!
